Oil Check Requirement from Carwow

We wanted to update you on a new check process that Carwow has introduced, which now requires all suppliers to check the oil level of each vehicle upon collection.

To be transparent with you all, we challenged and pushed back on Carwow regarding the real-world necessity of this new requirement, but Carwow has now instructed that this be a mandatory step in their process with zero exceptions if we are to continue fulfilling their movements.

As we continue working with Carwow to ensure the process is as seamless as possible for both sides, we also value the strong partnership and consistent work Carwow provides for all of us.

The new carwow checklist will be introduced for all jobs being loaded from tomorrow. Existing jobs will remain as they are.

Struggles with Rapid Chargers

We've seen a few drivers struggling with Rapid Charges of late, CCS plugs in particular.

Fuel gauge, odometer photos and warning lights

Please ensure the engine is turning over before taking photos of the Fuel Gauge & Odometer. Failure could cause inaccurate fuel gauge readings and lead to false warning lights being displayed.

All warning lights must be respected and reported to either Operations or customers before you drive away from the collection point. As a rule of thumb, do not drive any vehicles with a red warning light unless you have been given specific authorisation. Amber warning lights are typically advisory but that does not mean they can be ignored.

Thank you for your attention on these points.

Speed limits for vans are lower than for cars

For those that are not aware, vans have a lower speed limit than cars:

van.png

On single-carriageway roads displaying the national speed limit sign, vans are limited to 50mph. The same rule applies on a dual carriageway, where the speed limit is 70mph for a car but is 60mph for a van. On a motorway, a van is typically allowed to run to the 70mph speed limit, the same as a car.

Please pay attention, especially on single and dual carriageways.
