On the Road: Roger Evans

Meet Roger Evans, our Chief Operating Officer! Who is responsible for leading the Operations Team and expanding our network of drivers and agents on the next phase of its growth journey.

It was only fitting that our newly appointed COO got firsthand experience of what a drivers movement entails, from completing our customers checklist to handing over the vehicle to its new owner.

Stay tuned to hear all about his adventure and the bumps in the road he encountered along the way. 🚗💨

Tell us more about what you do at Engineius?

As COO, I am responsible for the Operational delivery of the business to our customers and the management of the driver and agent network.

How did you find the trip overall?

I enjoy doing moves as it enables me to experience the challenges facing our drivers and Engineius first hand in real time.

What did you enjoy most/what was the best part about your trip?

I had planned a typical day with two moves which contained a collection in central Birmingham to a Ford Dealer and then an interbranch move for Bristol Street Hyundai.

It had been a lengthy yet fruitful day, marked by the successful delivery of vehicles while gaining valuable insights into the operational processes. This encompassed recognising areas of excellence as well as pinpointing aspects that could benefit from improvement.

Needless to say, but I really enjoyed tackling the challenges and problem solving throughout the day!

Is there a location in the UK that you would like to travel through on your next job?

I’ve been fortunate to travel pretty much all of the UK (as I’m so old!), so I just want to go to a large customer site to see the on-site challenges at these new large PDI and storage facilities that are based in rural areas.

What is your dream car?

Dream car always a Maserati Granturismo…

An interesting fact about yourself?

I’m a keen adventure motorcyclist and love travelling the world on adventure and off-road motorcycles.

I’ve been to the Sahara, the Himalayas and Panama jungles in the last couple of years and I’m looking forward to riding down the Andes to Patagonia next year!

What did you do before Engineius?

Well, I did actually work for Engineius as a consultant for 2 years back in 2019 before leaving to be a Commercial Director for a Commercial Management Company. It is nice to be back here and to see how much it has changed.
