Movements in Focus - July 2026

This month’s theme was all about our drivers’ favourite books, giving us an insight into the stories, authors and genres that have inspired them. From well-loved classics to personal favourites, we received a fantastic range of submissions showcasing the diverse reading interests within our driver network.

Some entries were particularly special, with a few drivers even sharing books they had written themselves. After reviewing all the submissions, we selected a winning entry that stood out for its personal connection and the story behind the book.

Winner 🏆

Bruce Keith

At a talk in Aberdeen in 2017

Here's Bruce Keith with his favourite book - "Bridgescapes" - the first book he wrote and published in 2017, to coincide with the opening of the iconic Queensferry Crossing across the Forth. "Bridgescapes" is a personal journey through Scotland celebrating over 700 years of the nation's heritage of bridges and bridge engineers.

Since then Bruce has written two further books, on Scottish milestones and underground Scotland, and has given over 650 talks to over 325 organisations, from Bournemouth to Lerwick. Keen to get back on the road again, Bruce is now an Engineius driver - a natural born wandering man!
