A Month on the Move 📍
Congratulations to Jeff Grey for winning our Driver of the Month and embodying our ‘Forward Thinking’ value.
In August, Jeff Grey covered 6,823 miles, driving vehicles such as Citroen Relay 35 BlueHDi to a brand new Jaguar F-Pace.
💬 Jeff’s Message:
I’m Jeff, a 57-year-old retired police officer and former military policeman. I run for both fun and fitness, and I ride an electric Brompton for work. I live in Weymouth with my partner, Kristy, our 14-year-old son, and our 4-year-old pug.
For just over a year, I’ve been working part-time with Engineius, a job I’d happily do full-time if life allowed. The main reason I can’t commit to more hours? A rather pampered pug who’s never left alone for long.
The role suits me perfectly because I love both driving and travelling. Every day brings a new mix of vehicles, from nimble city cars to hefty vans, and the thrill of discovering new corners of the UK never gets old. The only real frustration has been the occasional headache of public transport, particularly train journeys to and from Weymouth.
Over the past year, I’ve driven a range of electric vehicles, most of which impressed me except the Citroën e-Dispatch, which proved disappointing on one of the coldest days of the year. My personal favourites, though, have been the many Land Rovers, especially the Defenders. While I couldn’t justify owning one due to running costs, they’re a joy to drive.
If Land Rover ever fancies lending me a Defender for a long-term test, perhaps with a car trailer to boost my workload, I’d gladly accept! Until then, I’ll keep enjoying the variety, freedom, and sheer pleasure this job brings.
