Engineius Continues to Fund Renewable Energies Projects

Each year, Engineius pay to offset their corporate carbon footprint with climate neutral specialist, Climate Partner to remain environmentally responsible and carbon neutral. Clearly the automotive industry produces CO2, so looking for more sustainable solutions is something Engineius take seriously.

Renewable energies play a crucial role in climate action, and projects supported by Engineius are registered with international standards. Worldwide, we face an ever-growing energy demand, so it is essential to explore and promote renewable energy sources.

Chris Clibbery, CEO and founder at Engineius explains: “We believe we have the greenest credentials in vehicle movement. Over the last 4 years we have cut our own carbon output by 54,000kg– that’s like driving a petrol car around the planet more than twice!
However, we feel that it’s important to recognise being part of the automotive industry which collectively produces large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions and look wider for solutions.”

How does renewable energy contribute to climate action?

One-third of greenhouse gas emissions comes from burning fossil fuels, such as coal and oil. This kind of energy generation is not only finite but has severe negative effects on the climate. To reduce CO2 emissions, mitigate the effects of climate change, and meet an ever-growing energy demand, it is essential to promote renewable energy sources.

The most popular sources of renewable energy are wind, solar, and hydropower. However, energy can also be harnessed from biogas and biomass plants using animal dung or organic residues.

Another renewable source is geothermal energy, which is generated and stored in the earth. The climate projects which Engineius support play an important role in transferring and implementing these technologies worldwide. Project activities not only avoid CO2 emissions but can also reduce a country’s dependency on fossil fuels, secure the energy supply, and provide jobs for local people.

Clibbery concludes: “Supporting projects around the world which look to develop and implement renewable energies make us see the bigger picture whilst ensuring we also implement the very best practises within our own business.”
