On the Road: Nelson Ayres
Meet Nelson Ayres, our Driver Services Account Manager!
Nelson provides advice, guidance, and support to drivers within the Southern area of the UK. His focus is ensuring the safety, efficiency, and high standard of service from his drivers within his region.
Tell us more about what you do at Engineius?
I’m a Driver Services Account Manager for the Southern region managing all the drivers in that area, assisting them with any issues that may arise and ensuring all drivers have the best support.
How did you find the trip overall?
Very pleasant, it was very interesting experiencing day-to-day challenges that the drivers face during movements, including the use of public transport and getting to and from the movements.
It is very surprising how many cosmetic issues you can spot when you are performing the Enginius checks on a vehicle. Thankfully, I was fortunate with the weather too during my movement, which gave me a better appreciation for the challenges the drivers may face when the weather isn’t as favourable.
What did you enjoy most/what was the best part about your trip?
I enjoyed the planning side of the movement and ensuring the times of the movement were met. I had a good sense of achievement once the vehicle was delivered on time, and the customer was happy with the service.
Is there a location in the UK that you would like to travel through on your next job?
Anywhere along the South Dorset coast.
What is your dream car?
New Ford Focus ST
What did you do before Engineius?
I worked within the logistical warehouse at SKY TV ensuring all the new set up boxes for TV and broadband where sent out during the Covid 19 pandemic.
